Post by: cal.50 on May 06, 2022, 04:36:41 AM
Hello all,

I need to know the axle loads of the friont and rear axle of the M2 Halftrack.

Does anyone know this?

Thanks
Andy

I would have thought the load on the rear axle is zero, or at least nearly zero with only the tension of the tracks putting load on it. Or is it the load on the boggie frame that you need?

Are there any max loads for the front axle?

Thanks

I think he's talking about axle weight...

Not sure if anyone has actually taken their track down to a scale to get this...would be interesting to know though...

M16A1 without the quad mount.  14,000# total, 5,000# front axle, 9,000# center of tracks.  I assume M2 would be a little lighter but the CG should be about the same place.
