Title: rear axle seal number

this is also posted in the front and rear diff section.

rear axle oil seal number (this is a seal you do not want to get nos from a halftrack parts supplier)
new national part number       370036A
national premium seal number 380036A this is an unusual seal that locks to the shaft and the outer housing then spins within itself.
cross over numbers
SKF 40136, SKF Plus 40133 and OUTRUNNER 850

Has anyone confirmed either of these number will work?

Need to do some seal work on a HT and don't want to order parts that won't work.

PS The seal / wear ring combo as in the second seal is common in heavy trucks now. You always get a new wear surface when you replace the seal this way.

i know one person that has used them with no problems.

also the second seal is not a wear ring combo. it is as stated above.

Also, yes it is actually a seal / wear ring combo that is designed to be installed by hand without any special tools. It is a "one piece" unit and not designed to be separated. If you look at the diagram the inner piece in the "L" shape is a rubber in-cased wear ring with the outer piece being the seal. These are normally used in rough service applications as you can see by the diagram that there are actually 4 different "wipers" in the seal. Some of the wipers are for oil and some are to keep the dirt and contaminates out.
