Now as I have not seen one of these units in person. Does the truck cab look like a professional installation or is it a bubba job?

Inquiring minds want to know! As there seems to be several of these US6 / HT conversions.

i rode in it. its just as rough riding as a original halftrack but more comfortable in the cab.
this is the same halftrack that is posted first on this thread.
they did a perty good job splicing the frames together.

 That thing was pretty cool! And yeah they did do a good job of putting it together.

Your right very clean installation. They  spliced the truck frame in just a head of the rear diff. Ton and 1/2 chevy cab, there is a CCKW transfer case in it. It has a Chevy front axle so there would be no way to have the front drive. The ratios would not match. The owner is going to restore it as is. Which in this case I think is an exellent idea.
