Title: Surge tank Q
Post by: KC on July 12, 2011, 09:26:22 PM
Need some direction on the plumbing for the surge tank. I'm ready to install my recently repaired surge tank and not sure how the overflow from the radiator is connected. I'm I correct that the line from the radiator connects to the bottom fitting on the surge tank? Or does it connect to the line directly under the surge tank pressure cap? My tank was completely rusted out on the bottom, the auto resto shop did a beautiful job on repairs, looks NOS.
Thank you for any and all replies.

It connects to the fitting on the bottom.

Just received my brand new surge tank for my early model M2. When I went to mount it-no bolt holes in firewall!
Whats up with that? Did early models not have a surge tank?

Early model halftracks did not have surge tanks. As with many items, they were added at a later time and other items were removed or discontinued.

I've had a couple of scout cars without the surge tank holes but this is the first time I've seen a halftrack without them. Kinda rare I would think.

Only saw one other. If you do not need the surge tank and it is serviceable I would like to trade for or but it.
