Title: Ammeter Wiring

I'm about to install a new ammeter gauge (the old gauge and wiring has deteriorated beyond recognition).  According to the wiring diagram the positive wire from the battery goes to ammeter (+) post.  Unfortunately, the new ammeter isn't marked on the back.  Does the (+) side on the ammeter face correspond to the (+) post on the back?
