this halftrack is sold
My name is Edward Bell and I am 69. Health and finances require my selling my halftrack which i was trying to restore over the last 20 plus years.
I have a M2A1 1943 (winch type) halftrack. It is aprox 95%-97% complete with all original parts from the original car or from other parts cars i have had over the years. It ran well untill I put it in storage a few years ago and has not been started since. The only reproduction parts are the side and rear armor plates from the cab back. I created a set of rear and side armor plate drawings (I was a professional draftsman) from a friend's (Jack Thomlin) halftracks. these were then manufactured for me. I also have a few original pieces of side armor plate.
The car was stripped down to the frame and running gear -- with all parts sandblasted and primered. Then reassembled and painted as i went along.
Many hard to find parts (NOS) were bought from venders over the years. The car is currently about 70% reassembled and partially painted.
The cab area, doors, windshield, and all engine area armor, winch and winch armor are from my original car or other original cars. It has the original combat rims and tires and fair to good tracks (age cracked but not badly worn). I will include all my salvaged/ or bought armor screws, glass winshield frames, latches for outside armor doors, footmanloops, knobs, lights, interior seats, backrests etc., in the sale of the car to complete the basic car.
I also have an original pulpit/ring and armor, plus trolly and 50cal cradle. and additional parts and assorted accessories to complete fitting out the restored car such as period antennas some with canvas covers, radio stack (shells only), period ammo cases - 30 and 50 cal, canvas seat sleeves for rear area and 50cal gun and cradle covers.
The gun ring and other listed items may be included in the sale if a reasonable price is offered.

I have a few photo's of my halftrack which is currently stored in a very tiny garage (the door can not close because of the length of the car - so i normally have a tarp and plywood cover over the garage opening).

The last photo in the set above is to show the frame number of the car.
The rest are just to show the exterior of the car and its current state of assembly.
I will be adding photo's of the additional parts stored at another location -- the windshield armor, seats, lights, and most of the smaller parts are in the car itself under plastic and plywood on the rear bed. (additional parts include a complete 50 cal pulpit, trolly-socket and cradle w/ammo case holder, canvas covers for 50 cal ... radio antennas, radios (2) shells only, tow hitch, air cleaner, etc.)

Note that most of the side armor is just temporarily bolted in place for moving the car.

I called and talked to the owner a week or so ago and was informed it was sold.

why is this still here on the site it is sold i think, if it is remove all stuff there is sold, we dont need to see that anymore.. :'( :'( :'( :'( ??? ???
