i came across a different type of air cleaner today for the halftracks.
most of us are familiar with with the early and late style but i think i have found and even earlier style.
in the pic bellow of the filter on the far left is the one i am talking about. it is followed by the early style in the middle then the late style on the far right.
all the halftrack air filters i have seen have a 2 1/2"hose connection but this one has a 3" that is original.

Interesting. Has anyone modified any of these to take a new type filter inside for better air cleaning?

i have found a 4th style for the air cleaners.
in the above pic the center air cleaner is the early type. you can see they use a cover that is clamped on for the 3/8" crank case vapor line.
in the bellow pic there is no cover and the 3/8" line is soldered to the housing.

Steve,
I have the center top photo early air filter. Just had it ultrasonic cleaned and painted.
Will install it tomorrow. I need the oval decal for it. Any source?
