I have photo taken in 1990 of a DRMO yard in Germany. The yard is full of M16 halftracks that have just been released by the French government, but they are still owned by the U.S.. The halftracks had been through rebuilds, so they are complete, new tires, tracks, and they ran. My friend who sent me the photo said there were 900 halftracks in the yard (I will have to check that number when I look at the photo again). Some of the best halftracks were pulled out to be parade (change of command, pass and review) vehicles. all the rest were to be sent to the tank range in Germany.

That photo or one just like it was on the back cover of either an old mvpa supply line or else it was military vehicles mag. It was impressive.

The photo I have was sent to me in 1990 by a friend of mine in the Army and stationed in Germany. He had the chance to visit the yard full of halftracks. He also sent me a photo of another part of the yard that was M5 high speed tractors that were released by France.
When I run across the photos I will see if I can get Steve to post them for me.
