Title: Interesting Halftrack Photo
Post by: steve1973 on January 06, 2014, 09:36:14 PM
I caught this in an issue of Military Vehicles Magazine last year I think. I contacted the magazine about the photo and it turns out to be one from the Editor, John Adams-Graf. He sent me a larger photo of the halftrack unfortunately there was no information to go with it. So here is the question. What is wrong with this picture?

I will post answer on Friday if no one guesses it.

There are several interesting things about this photo:

Chevron front tires

Std truck rims on the front

No Jerry can brackets or holders

No Mine racks

Drivers side rear view mirror

Fender mounted head lights

Top radiator louver broken

Seems to be painted a very dark color?

Last but not least the Roller / Winch thing

I would love to know where this picture was taken as it seems to be a very early HT...Possibly at Aberdeen?

If you goto http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Half_Track_Car  you will see in a pic or 2 missing gas can holders and these early front rims.
