Title: front drive sprocket wheel bolts

Hi all,
I took apart my front drive sprocket wheels and saw there were no flat washers or lock washers on the bolts attaching the 3 parts. Is that the way they should be?

Mine did not have any washers either, but I put grade 8 lock washers in when I put it back together.

The TM does not show or discuss the use of washers…but if you have the thread to add a lock washer I don't see the harm.

If you are talking about the sprocket and inner and outer flanges then it is just a bolt and nut combo, same direction thread. If you look at the nut carefully it is an over sized armor bolt nut which is a mechanical locking nut and does vary by manufacture from what I am told. If you are talking about the six mounting nuts then no washer and they are left and right hand thread.

How do you get these flat lock washers off the flange studs on the wheel sprocket assembly?
