From the Operator's Manual, Section S-33AR, pg 3b:
7 1/2 quarts for transmissions w/out power takeoff, 9 quarts for transmissions with power takeoff for the winch.
You can also find this in TM9-710, pg 207, and TM9-710 TO 19-75A-77, pg 223.

I finally drained the Transmission yesterday with half of the Oil going in the driveway when the Filler plug fell into the Funnel, plugging it. On a Positive note, The Oil looked clean with no signs of water and not a speck of metal on the drain plug. I tested the Magnet and it was strong enough to pick up 3 grease fittings off the bench. I poured 1 qt. of Transmission through the Shift tower opening and will add more today once I find the capacity of the transmission! I can't find the capacities in all of those books I bought from Portrayal or the French manual I picked up last week. If I can top it off I can let it soak for a bit while I work on other parts of the truck. While I am here I have been Wire Brushing and Painting a bit at a time underneath and everything I encounter appears to be Matte Black and not O.D. like every other Military Vehicle I have owned. Early Lot 5. Any guesses? Thanks.

My canvas top is shredding Is there any one out there with a good top or some one know of some one willing to replace my canvas with new canvas. I have all the zippers and straps. they are still good. PM me if you can help or a lead.

Try moving the lever around as you lift the cover, or try it in different gears as something is holding it in place.
