So picking unit numbers for the M16 was something I hadn’t thought about at all. The bumper numbers for Zelda was easy, my unit was a no brainer, the name Zelda was dropped in my lap and was appropiate.
The new track the name was an easy choice, Kathleen after the boss! Bumper numbers weren’t even on the menu. Then today I was restoring an old metal foot locker I inherited years ago putting on some new hinges, patching holes and such. So as I was sanding down the lid guess what shows up
Still not sure if it’s 203rd or 283rd both are actual units with the the 203rd attached the 7th Armored Division. The 283rd was a guard unit attached to the coast artillery. In Bridgeport Connecticut. So Providence has given me my bumper numbers!
