M5/M9A1 Halftrack in US
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:10:25 AM »
My friend Phillip picked up this track in KY this weekend. There was also a 2nd junk track also pictured. Most of the rear armor is fake. Runs. Needs lots of work. Looks pretty good but has sat outside and rust has worked it over.  Questions. How rare are these in the US? Worth more or less than a standard m3? Parts easier to find? Better or worse engine to work on and find parts?

If someone needs parts from the chassis let me know.

In the US these tracks are hard to come by. Parts are hard to find. Your best bet for parts is across the pond. BAVI makes all the armor you need. Not much of anything is interchangeable except the track suspension but not the jackshaft. I think engine parts you can get but other than that it is going to be a challenging project. Not sure where you live but there will be one at Tower Park next week near Lodi, CA. It is one of Littlefields former halftracks and is a runner.

they are rare compared to the white halftracks but value is the same for a complete halftrack like you have there.
the value for your parts halftrack may be less than a white halftrack because not many people looking for them.
you have all the hard to find parts.
you will find it easier to find some parts for yours as compared to the white like engine parts and gages.
your engine is a 450 red diamond and they where used in many other trucks.
