cotton webbing and rivets for the hood

the original cotton webbing used to seal the edges of the hood was
3/4" wide X 0.120 thick.
i have a few emails out trying to get the thickness of various suppliers and will post a good source for the cotton webbing a little later.
i did find something interesting though, a nylon webbing that is extremely strong. im not sure how it would hold up in this application
but it did spark my interest seeing as how when the hood is raised alot of people don't fold it all the way back but set the edge of the hood on the webbing.
here are a couple links for the nylon, you can buy it by the foot and in olive drab. item number W9595

edit ... 1/2" rivets where used, not the 5/8 lsited bellow
the rivets most commonly used where split rivets. mcmastercarr is a good source for these.

When installing new new webbing, do you just wrap it around the corner or do you cut it so you get a good square corner?
