Here they are mounted. They are mounted to a piece of 1/4" plate that is welded to the vertical track armor. They are placed in the front of the compartment under the troop seats. The armored cable going from box to box is similar to bx cable.

so weve reached the stage on our install, that we need to figure out how to rout the armored flex, to the battery box.
I guess on our Izzy return they put a tool box or something under the passenger seat. and that block the way,
anybody know how an original was run ??

thanks

Get the radio manual for your halftrack. It has all the routings listed. Just FYI. The radio terminal boxed were installed at the factory when the halftrack was built. Some had the larger square box and some had the smaller rectangle box.

actually I have every single Halftrack manual from base shop data to all the 2700s,  and not a single one of them says anything about
going from the battery box to the J-box, no wire size no conduit type nothing.  just a vague drawing in the schematic.

and having gone through every picture posted on the interwebs, Ive decided to just go with a Pair of #4 welding wire, in 3/4 flex to the first box
hopefully that's enough to run both radios.  on the crossover Ill use two number 6 in 3/4 flex.

I wont try to do the bonding to frame, to much room for error. a direct ground back to the battery is way more secure
