Vacuum line to pump hook up
« on: March 12, 2017, 07:46:01 AM »
Getting ready to plumb the vacuum lines for the wipers to the pump. I'm pretty sure I know where they should hook up but I would like to make sure. Does the vacuum line from the intake go to the front connection of the vacuum pump marked "IN" ?  Also, it looks like the lines that came off the T behind the firewall were just short steel lines before changing to rubber lines?

Thanks Gary

Just went through that same process.  The direction of air flow is from the vacuum wiper motors to the intake manifold.  So, the "IN" marked on the vacuum pump is plumbed to the vacuum motors and the other side is plumbed to the intake manifold.  Not exactly sure about the firewall, but I think rubber lines are used off of the tee fitting.  Dale

Mine is unplumbed at present but it has the tee with short steel lines as well. The Base Shop Data book shows rubber lines attached to the tee and running through the dash board to each wiper unit.
