Halftrack at an auction today!
« on: May 13, 2017, 04:27:15 PM »
Ok Gang,

First time poster here, I don't have a halftrack yet, but I am working on acquiring one as we speak.

But I wanted some input on this, There was an auction today in NM and what was left of a halftrack with a crane on the back went across the block.  From what I understand, The frame had been butchered and extended, and a lot of the rear bogie system had been welded to the frame to help handle the weight of the crane.  So I wasn't that interested in anything except the roller and doors anyway.  What made it interesting was the data plate.  It said T19.  I wasn't there, but it went for $600!!!!  Does the fact that it was a T19 make it more valuable, regardless of condition?  If I need to I might could track down who bought it.....  and I will see if I can get some pics.

If it is that butchered up I would look for one in better condition. Don't rush and buy the first one you see. Do your research and be patient. Most importantly buy one that is most complete you can afford. We are here to help you.

welcome to the group

the roller and the doors are worth a lot more than 800

the fact that its a T19 wouldn't increase the value for me usually but usually they are missing the data plates so maybe a little bit.

I would say buy it if you have the extra room and this may be a parts machine
