Shim under fuel pump?
« on: June 01, 2017, 11:32:14 PM »
I'm switching out a straight fuel pump for the combination fuel/vacuum pump and noticed the manual mentions two gaskets and a shim on the engine mounting flange. There was no shim under the previous pump. Am I missing one? How thick is it? Thanks for the help.

There is no shim on mine, but there is a mounting bracket that bolts to the block then the pump mounts to it. Let me know if you need a picture.

Thanks Gary. I have the mounting block. I've never seen a shim under the pump on anything else I've ever owned and I wasn't sure if it was a cock-eyed adjustment of some sort to keep the pump lever from bottoming out or what. Anyhow, I just went ahead and mounted the pump directly. I appreciate the help.
