Loading tires & wheels single-handed

I wanted to get my new tires installed before my soon upcoming shoulder surgery and I found a place locally to remove the old ones and install the new tires, tubes and flaps I had bought a few months ago. All I had to do was take them over there. My ol’ buddy horse had to be put down a couple of months ago so there’s no one here but me to load the tire & wheel assemblies onto the pickup (he would’ve spent the whole time criticizing how I wrapped the chains or blocked things up anyhow). Since I can barely lift a bottle of beer anymore without pain, I had to come up with a way to get the tires from the ground into the truck. Then it occurred to me - this #&%!* half track owes me a lifetime of service! It should do the heavy lifting!







They slide pretty good once you get them on the plastic bed liner!

Just thought I'd post this in case there's someone else who's old, sore and tractor-less and has to do something similar. As soon as I get out of California, I’ll be buying a skip loader to use around the property and won’t have to resort to this kind of exercise anymore.

That is great!!...yes run from there, and get yourself a nice tractor or skid loader! I tell my friends all the time, I am to light for heavy work, and to heavy for light work....okay, truth getting old. Glad you did not hurt yourself.

Sometimes my chair is my most valuable tool when used
to ponder how I can do something by myself without getting in
trouble.

Having an A-Frame crane sure makes a difference. But the best investment I ever made though was a forklift!
