M16 Rear Floor Box Alignment...

There are no stupid questions--I am just a stupid person!   

So, I am assembling my M16 (no rear door), and about to put the rear floor boxes in.  Which way do the hinges go (toward the front or toward the rear)?

Also, are the rear floor boxes different sizes for the M16, M16A1, M16A2?

The accordion door on the large box goes behind the cab, can't recall which way the small one mounts.

Small box in rear floor.  If it has rear door. The lid opens up from standing outside half track..
If no door solid wall then it opens from inside towards rear wall
All floor boxs are same in all m16 models regarding size

Now I think I understand why the rear box for my 16A1 has a notch torch cut in each rear corner. When they flipped it around for the A1 configuration it must have interfered with the rear corner frame brackets for the bed?

Notch is so you can get to nuts on bolts that are in the  bottom corner .

Also, could you send a couple of photos of the brackets that the rear armor bolts to the backside?  My next challenge is trying to recreate the manner in which to connect my back to the halftrack.  :-)

Sorry lost track of this post ..I'll get those pics ASAP .. the M16 pics referred too in this chain of posts are pics of an M16A2 and there are some differences.   An additional turret ring, the fold down side and rear armor is bolted up in the corners with brackets as the need to fold them down was eliminated with the additional turret ring.  This track has the Maxson M45F turret which includes a interphone for communications (missing in these pics) a charging selector box on the left side of the gunners compartment which charges the turret batteries using the halftrack generator or charges the halftrack battery via the turret generator.  The pedestal light bracket that originally sat on the rear armor panel was moved after the rear door was installed and relocated to the floor next to the carbine rack on the passenger side of the gun compartment.  This track has both a French speedometer and a French style antenna mount and is missing its conduit that runs from the battery box to the slipring under the turret.  The slipring is the same type used in the Sherman Tank.
