What am I missing?

What’s missing from this photo? I’m guessing an access panel but I’ve no idea what it should look like.

It's just a flat steel plate. About .120" thick.

That is where you might grease your throwout bearing (depending on mods) and where you adjust your clutch.

That is correct. Just a note to all. If you have the later bell housing with the grease zerk on the out side, remove the access cover to verify that it is actually connected to the throw out bearing. If not it is just going to make a pile of grease on the inside doing no good for your clutch or throw out bearing.

Measured 3 5/8 inches width

3 inches center to center ...ends had different measurement

2 5/8 inches center to center for both ends due to the radius

At the end of the day you don't have to have the cover there. It helps keep dirt and mud out if you are using it as the military intended, but not necessary for what most of us use these for now.

It’s a favorite place for mice to build a nest though.

Thanks for the replies Gents, and thanks for the measurements of the plate. I can knock one of those up easy enough.
