Mystery parts.
« on: March 13, 2021, 08:54:48 AM »
I was told these go to an M2. Large piece is 25 5/8 x 33 1/8 and I have two of these.  Other part I couldn’t figure out where it goes!

I don't know what the plates are for but the lower piece is part of the M2A1 conversion. It gives the ammo locker door something to close against after removing the full-length locker and replacing it with the half ammo locker.

I’ll take the lower bracket piece , if you are selling?  Happens that I need that piece. Was planning on making it.

The larger pieces are shelves for the ammo lockers.

What are the hinged pieces that are on the shelf in the center picture?

Thanks

I'm not sure what those hinge things are.  Maybe they aren't the shelves, but the dimensions look right.  I've never seen an original one in person, nor have I seen any pictures of the shelves up close.  Those things do look similar to what is shown in the pic below though.

Looks like the hinge sits against the outer door so the shelf can be opened from inside. I dont see how that would work on the upper shelves withought a brace across the front but it exains the 2 notches in the lower angle plate that the side armor is attached to. Its neat to see.

The hinges on the shelves are blocks to keep all the ammo cans from sliding out if you open the door on a side hill. I have been looking for those hinges to copy for a long time. If you could take some more pictures with a tape measure....or sell me one to copy would be great!

Torque,

Looking at them closer and they are just 2” hinges with a 1/8” bent piece attached to it!  Very simple to make. There are also two tapered 1/4” holes on each side. Only tapered on one side.

Yeah - thanks Paul. It'd be easier if you'd just sell them to me!
