halftrack hood latch

looking for hood latch or replacement tubes.  Also any info on what attaches to the latch and goes between the latch and hood.  I believe it is rubber and would like to find a replacement piece.

I think the tube is referred to as the barrel. I also would like to know what goes between the latch and panel as mine are missing a intermediate material and it appears the 2 parts have been fretting.

Mine had the remains of a rubber bumper on it that was riveted on. I found rubber bumpers at Home Depot that looked right and even had a hole in them that sorta fit around the rivet head. I used a little supper glue and they look and work fine. I hope you didn’t toss your old latches. They can look really bad, and still be fixed. With heat and patience, you can unscrew the handle and replace the spring.

I dont know how close these match the originals, but I was never making a museum display anyway. I just wanted something that worked and looked ok.
