Guys, I need some help.
I am NOT an electrical guy. The concept of these condensers is confusing me.
I am trying to put together a 'shielded'-ish set up.
I have the following shielded pieces:
--can and cap for the distributor
--all the shielded braiding
--shielded ignition coil box
--shielded filter box for inside lower firewall
--UNSHIELDED generator, with a condenser attached to the main terminal
--side box mount to the voltage regulator
My question is this: how many condensers do I need?
There is a condenser in the shielded ignition coil box, so do I need the condenser that is connected to the ignition under the dash?
With the condenser inside the ignition coil box, do I need the condenser that is connected to the main terminal on the generator? (as a side note, by putting the shielded covers on the generator posts, I now do not have an easy way to connect the generator condenser).
Can the system work with just the condenser in the ignition coil box?
Sorry for the noob questions, but figured this is the best forum to ask this, and the books are not so clear....
Thanks,
kk
