Halftrack project wanted
« on: May 15, 2022, 08:46:36 AM »
Hello,

My name is John. My son and I are looking for a restorable halftrack. Any condition considered as long as it is priced right. He is starting college as a mechanical engineering student. So, he needs to keep busy... :)

Please let me know if you have any leads. I would prefer something not running and original that is priced right.

Thanks,,

John

Welcome John! Im sure you have come to the right place. Its getting a bit harder to locate some parts but members have stepped up and taken on the chalange of remaking a lot of the hard to find parts. Best of luck to You and your Son in finding and building a halftrack!

I once heard someone say it’s best to spend the money up front and getting a mostly complete halftrack, than it is to buy a cheap mostly stripped one.
Having gone down the second path when I got mine, I now agree that it is much cheaper to get a mostly complete one that runs, and you get to play with it sooner. They pop up on EBay Motors under “military vehicles” several times a year.
Good luck, look forward to seeing what you get.

A few nice ones have popped up recently on FB. An M15 to M3 to M16A1 was listed yesterday on being a trailer.
