Scout Car Carb

Hi. My Scout car finally arrived yesterday. The First thing I noticed was the Carburetor, (Early Lot 5) is a straight Downdraft. The NOS Carburetor I got was a 90 degree bend, (Later model) Carb. has anybody interchanged them? I would have to waste it if I don't have to. Thanks.

I had an early lot 5 with the same carb, I think they are interchangeable but the air horn is different. The updraft style air horn is a lot harder to find but neither one is easy.
