Manual pouch
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:47:51 AM »
So I went to the Great LA Air Raid event this weekend.  On display was Fort MacArthur's M16.  Something interesting that I saw mounted in the cab, just outboard and behind the passenger seat, was a canvas pouch that contained all the tech manuals.  Is was mounted using two metal clips that hooked over the top of the bulkhead.
I've never seen this before, either mounted or in the manuals.  TM 9-710 mentions that the mauals were stored either under the left rear seat or in the glove comparment.  Anyone know what bag this actually is?

P.S.  I couldn't find anyone from the museum to ask them about it, or to get into the track to get a better picture...this is the best shot I have.

At first glance in looks like a M35 manual pouch. I will have to go outside and get a picture of mine so you can compare.

That would be great.  But that would mean it is Korean War and later?  Maybe I'll have to improvise with a map case or something then to keep it period for WWII.  I certainly like the idea...

Here is the one I have in my M37.

When I bought this one I was with an old time M35 guy and he ID'd it as a M35 manual pouch.

Since I bought this one I have bought a few more usually in the $10-$20 range. They do make handy storage bag though.

Thanks Steve...the numbers match so I'd say it's the same!  I might have to get one...
