rear body to frame shims

 I know on M2's there is a shim between the bed and the front frame pad. It's about 4"x2" with a hole centered for the bed hold down bolt. My question is has anyone seen more than one per side? Do all the M2/M4's have these? Last, Do the M3/M16 long frame use them?
 Getting ready to mount beds on my M4 and M16. I assume I need one per side on the M4 but not sure about the M16 or M3A1.

Recently brought home a Diamond T M3 and look at this shim stack! It looks like it has been there since the factory installed the bed.

4 on the passenger side 3 on the drivers side. Kevin how many did your M3A1 have?

Not positive but i would guess the shims are dependent on what it takes to level the bed with the cab. Im sure sagging in the frame,offsets in hole locations and variations in armor cuts wpuld all affect how much shim is required. Id start with one shim per side and leave the bolts loose till the cab is installed. Again this is a guess on my part.

Thanks great information. I checked the frame carefully and its not damaged that I can tell and the shim stack looked factory. I wonder if there could be a slight variation in the height of the front frame support bracket also.
