transfer case hi/low no detent?
« on: June 12, 2013, 01:08:02 PM »
Well I goofed. Before I pull the assembly out I thought I would check with the group for some input. I installed two transmission assemblies last week. I thought I had ran them both through the shift patterns on the floor but apparently one was missed or it suddenly became weird. The high/low lever on the t/case has no detent but when you pull it to the rear you feel and hear? and slight bump. Apparently the detent is stuck or broke. Any suggestions on the simplest way to fix this. I think I will have to pull the entire assembly but that where you guys come in.
 Thanks

I know this post is old, but this is what I found on mine when I took it apart. I have to find a heavy duty 7/16" od spring. A 1/2" spring is to big.
