front wheel cyls  these are not a direct replacement for the originals, originals had an 7/16-20 port

I installed a new MC and all new lines but can't get it to bleed.
Thinking cylinders are my next step.

the original front wheel cyls the inlet ports where 7/16-20 and the only ones i have found so far have a 1/2-20 port. you will need an adapter if you don't change your brake hoses, thats why i listed the inlet port size. the kit listed will work with the new and old cyls. sounds like you are really making some progress on your track.

The Raybestos lines I bought worked on the originals, are they 7/16 by 20?

i measured the original wheel cylinder ports i have here and they are also 7/16-20

The 4419 cylinders I got from NAPA came with 1/2" by 20 ports, so I am trying to find a adapter to 7/16" by 20 so I can use the new brake lines I have.

i will update the above post. if you cant find an adapter you may be able to have them crimp on a new 1/2-20 fitting to your hose. you will loose an inch of length but it should be ok. my local napa auto makes hoses, they don't charge much to do something like that.

If you use the 1/2 port cylinders, you have to machine up an adapter spud that goes from 7/16 to 1/2.  The only replacement brake lines you can get have the 7/16 ends, but nobody makes an adapter so you have to machine one yourself.

The new front wheel cylinders with the 1/2"-20 thread can easily be adapted back to the original 7/16"-20 thread by putting in a helicoil. No drilling or taping is required as the 1/2"-20 thread is correct to put the 7/16" helicoil into. You must use the special compression tool because fine thread helicoils are way oversize and impossible to install without. I used the .625" length helicoils and shortened them a couple coils to make sure they didn't bottom out, worked great. You can buy the compression tool on E-bay or make one. I made one out of a 3/4" piece of 1" bar stock, drill (or bore in a lathe) half way through a diameter of .515" and the rest of the way 29/64". Tap the big end 9/16 fine as far as you can then finish with the 1/2"-20. Screwing the helicoil through this will compress it so it will go on into the hole in the wheel cylinder.

I was just at Napa to order the UP45 wheel cylinder repair kit and it is for a 1 5/8 cylinder NOT a 1 3/8. The photo online has it as 1 3/8 and perhaps that's where the confusion is.

Has anyone recently purchased Front wheel cylinder repair kits?
