Title: Shielded ignition wires and spark plugs ??
Post by: yd328 on May 31, 2015, 04:40:09 PM
For those of you using the shielded ignition wires, do you have the screw on post that's on the spark plug removed from the plug? I tried test fitting mine and with the post screwed on I can't screw the top on to the spark plug canister. Fitting the plug wire end onto the spark plug with the screw on post removed seems sloppy. I have Champion J8s installed.

Thanks Gary

An update on the shielded spark plug wires. I put new wires in the shielding but I had to change the original red insulator and spring assembly on the spark plug side, sloppy fit. A shorter crimp on connector from NAPA was used for the spark plug so it would fit in the brown insulator cup.

I’m going through this shielded plug wire replacement scenario right now. Were you able to get working wire ends for distributor and spark plug

Yes, I bought everything I needed from a local NAPA.
