Title: M2 bed assembly questions
Post by: Torque on December 09, 2016, 11:39:33 AM
Starting work on the bed and am not sure what all is welded to what.

1    I assume the floor supports and lower armor angle are welded together with the troop seat box sandwiched between them, is the lower rear angle is welded also?

2   How about the plates the fuel lines go through, are these welded to the angle at the top of the seat/box?  are they welded to the rear armor connector? or do they have a flange and bolt to the connector?

3  Is the rear connector also welded to the angle at the top of the troop seat box?

 Thanks, Barry

The center section is all sheet metal with 90 degree angle pieces spot welded or welded together. See photo below. You can see the fuel lines in place.

The next photo shows the center section with the front mount plate and bulkheads, side vertical track armor and rear lower plates in place.

Hope this helps. I will look for more photos.

Steve,

How thick was the sheet metal? Can you dig up any more photos of this stage of your process?

Thanks,

Paul
