Title: Battery and box
Post by: Robert Cassin on May 13, 2017, 08:04:43 AM
Hi all, I need a new battery. Can I get some recommendations? Also, can anyone send pictures of what the battery box looks like? Straps or harness to hold the battery?? I am sure I am missing some item there.  And can anyone recommend  a solar battery charger? Thanks, Rob

The battery should be an 8D battery. I've had a much smaller battery in my halftrack since I got it but will be changing to an 8D when I'm ready for it. If I make it to my shop tomorrow I will take photos of the hold down brackets. An Optima HD battery would be a good choice for a smaller replacement type. Make your own battery box then. no one will see it under the covers.

Here is a photo of all the hold down components. I sold this set a while back. This is for an 8D battery.

Rod Shaver has some of the parts and Gary has the rest of them. Neither has enough for a complete set if I remember right.

Thanks, Steve.  The 8D would have no problem fitting? I have been looking online and alot of the sellers, dont have the size of the battery. Rob

The halftrack originally took an 8D battery.

I have the top brackets.  Can prob get the threaded rods from a local hardware store.  I need the J-brackets if anyone has a set, knows where I can get them, or knows of a suitable alternative....thanks.
