Title: Transfer case crossmember??

Which way does the crossmember go, flanges up or down? Mine was in flange down and the transfer pan bolts have worn into it quite a bit, thought it was just bad motor mounts but the line drawing of the frame in the manual shows it flanges up. Could only find one other original picture and could not tell from it. Found several other pictures but who knows if the last guy to put a clutch in put it back right!

The member should be installed so it looks like a u, flat side down.

Thanks, then mine has been in wrong for a lot of years.
