Title: Windshield armor drawing
Post by: Torque on June 23, 2013, 11:41:05 AM
I used the windshield armor drawing from Bob Gillard that Steve posted and had one cut, looks good. Does anyone have the print for the layout of the holes? Thanks, Barry

What I did for mine was. I set my window armor in place and used hole transfer punches for the hinges and wiper holes. Then used the upper door armor as a pattern using the wiper holes as a center point. This gave me all the hole locations and window opening also. I propped the armor open, set the stands up so they looked good and marked the holes where they looked right. it might not perfect but no one has noticed yet.

I wanted to build mine out of aluminum-but had a hard time finding 1/2" thick sheet (and it was very expensive).
So i took two 1/4" aluminum sheets and glued them together with some gorilla glue, and presto!!!! i had 1/2" thick armor.
