How useful is this box on M2?

That box is used to store the other set of pedestal lights. Here are some photos of Tim Sutter's halftrack with that same box.

Anyone ever seen an original? Was watching an old episode of Combat recently and there was an M2 modified with a turret and enclosed roof that had this box on the the back. First one I'd ever seen until this thread.

The halftrack on Combat sounds just like the one in the episode "The Andy Griffith" show, where Bernie gets the surplus motorcycle.

That particular halftrack was used in many movies and TV shows That I have found or seen clips of.
