original fuel pump part number = AC 1537524
it looks like the 1939 1940 Oldsmobile L39 L90 8cyl and the 1940 pontiac model 29 8cyl use the exact same fuel pump as the halftrack except the arm. it would be easy to change the arm. maybe we will be able to find a cheap source for modern seal kits. the following links are for reference.

also the 1940s chevy trucks used a fuel/vacuum pump. it looks like it may fit in the halftrack but i haven't tried it. what do you think? http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/6811/Chevrolet_FUEL_PUMP_W_VACUUM_PUMP_METAL_BOWL.html

Steve,
The type of fuel/vacuum pump used on the halftrack is an AC type AJ double acting fuel pump. After reading what you have found on ebay I have to agree that those are AC type AJ fuel pumps with different arms. Does that mean they will work if the arms are changed out, probably but not sure. I did a lot of web surfing and have found out that even though the pumps look the same on the outside, the insides can very greatly. I think I found a source to get brand new rebuild kits for these pumps but waiting for a reply from them. They also have a rebuilding service that does this for you. I'm also checking for interchangability between the type AJ pumps also. I will post an update when I get a reply back from them.

I agree with that. You get what you pay for. I talked to Tom for about an hour and was very helpful in finding out what I wanted. They also deal with carb rebuild kits, ignition parts and lots more. They can even make engine gasket kits for the White 160AX if there is a demand for them.

any news on these kits?

I just received a kit from them, I'll let you know how it turns out. The kit looks good. I may be having the top and bottom of the pump re plated so it may be awhile before it goes together.
