i have decided to fabricate my own hinges so im going to post the information i have so far in the searches to find aftermarket hinges.
1/4" thick..... 3" long by 3 1/2" wide are the original hinges.

3x4 hinge http://www.cornerstonedetention.com/default.aspx?id=114  (this likely wont look right)


16 FR (railway code) 72-7-3416  (this might work if its modified a bit)

this is probably the best way, it looks like most of these companies will give you a quote if you send them a sample or drawing.
