I know this is not correct, but it is something my friend and I have thought about doing to save the exhaust manifold from cracking. We noticed that the engine mounts allow the engine to vibrate a little, yet the exhaust is rigidly attached to the frame. What I am going to do is cut a section of the exhaust and put a section of flexible exhaust pipe in its place. That will hopefully take the added stress of vibration off the manifold.
