make your own rivets

the rivets that mount the front bumper and front roller are 1/2"
an easy way to make these is to put a 1/2" fine thread bolt in your drill press, as its turning use your sander to profile it as you like.
use a higher speed on the drill press.
use a bolt with a grip length (the unthreaded portion) slightly shorter than the thickness of the material you are bolting together..
i use a 4 1/2" grinder. dewalt has the best body to it. its a little smaller in diameter so its easier to grip.
then use sanding pads.

i use the 4 1/2" 50 grit sanding disks. these work better for this kind of work than flapper disks
you can also easily remove the markings on the top of bolts by putting the grinder flat then spinning the bolt in your fingers above it.
