This is a search I did. They have more sizes than is listed in the search. I just talked to my local carquest dealer and have several of the sizes coming. Most rolls are 50' and your local dealer may only want to sell whole rolls so he doesn't have to stock it. Prices are what I consider reasonable, and in most cases that I found it's cheaper than eBay.

I just recently found out that Pico is near me who has all sorts of wire, looms and connectors. I recently purchased 5 boxes of different sizes from them. I though the prices were very reasonable. I also picked up some wire on eBay and friction tape at Home Depot.

Rhode Island Wire, carries it by the foot and great prices.  They also carry original cloth covered wire for vintage vehicle restoration in different wire sizes and color's with or without tracers.  I build all my harnesses using their products.  They also carry wire ends to include the bullet wire ends that are used on the HT and also the connectors.  They only do orders by phone, but they have an online catalog with wire types, etc. and pricing by the foot.
