fuel line at the tank

What do you guys do for the fuel line to the gas tank. Do you attach the steel line to the tank or use a rubber hose between the steel line to the tank?

I used steel line from tank to shut off valve. Then a short rubber line with a filter in it going to the frame, after that steel to the engine compartment.

I went with rubber line from the tank, but I may have to pull my tank so I wanted to be able to clamp it off I didn't have to drain my tank out the bottom.
