door hardware
« on: November 07, 2014, 08:23:53 AM »
I am looking for the hardware that is used on the doors. What I need is the short pistol port guide, pass side and 1 pistol port cover, also the hardware that is used to lock the upper door armor  open and closed, for both doors. I could also use some nice rust free door latch mechanisms as mine are rusted solid. I do have the handles however.

Thanks.     Henry

On your rusted handles I've talked to several people that have used a method of submerging rusted parts in feed grade molasses, A friend of mine has done that after a couple of weeks the parts come out clean. Look it up o the web. You might be able to salvage them out. I've found the latches used on the repo's are different then the originals.

My 2 cents

I have the pistol port tracks (guides) and the pistol port plates (covers). All are very nice laser cut reproductions. If you are interested please send me a PM.

Thanks Don, I might try the molassas thing. If it does or doesn't work at least the parts will smell nice.
