Found on the rear right armour from an M3.

I believe it’s for self-propelled artillery.

Thanks for the info, Would it be from an M3 75 or a standard M3 attached to a SPG unit?

That is a good question. In reality, it could be either or since even a jeep in a self-propelled unit would have that marking.

Can you make out any of the markings to the left and right of the symbol?

The left looks like 4 over 34 and the right looks like 2 over CA.
