Fuel or jerry can brackets
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:26:32 AM »
I'm going to need to find some fuel can brackets for my halftrack and need to know what to look for when I'm out looking. Are they universal? WWII same as post war what price can I expect to pay. Thanks.

Are you looking for the bracket that bolts to the armor or the pan that the gas can sits in? If its the holder/pan its universal, ebay has them, usually around 25 and up. there are slight differences in ww2 vs later but is small, and repros are cheap new vs older stuff rusty and expensive

I took one original off a parts halftrack I have and one from a Mil Surplus trailer I bought. Had to do a little straightening on both. I was hard pressed to tell the difference in them. I'm sure there are jerry can Nazi's that can tell the differences but I sure couldn't.
