Differential advice
« on: January 14, 2015, 09:04:07 PM »
Hi All,
I've just torn down my front and rear differentials,and would like to solicit the forums advice for what I have discovered.
Front Differential;
Gears look good.
Bearings will be replaced.
Washers A225898 qty 2 will need to be replaced, they are pitted. (these are the washers that fit inbetween the differential cases)
Spider gear copper washers are worn as well. A225899

Rear Differential;
Same thing as above the bearings will be replaced.
Washers A214944 qty 2 are pitted
Spider gear washers will need to be replaced A214945
Also I have a couple spider gears that have some chipped teeth and should be replace. Do you replace these individually or as a set?
Also, the brass plate that rides up against the ring gear has some steel embedded  in it from the sheared teeth. Should that be replaced as well?
Are these parts able to be sourced locally, or are the HT specific?
Any other advice?
Thanks so much!
Mark

I would check with Kevin L.-he has a lot of driveline parts. He goes by col.halftrack on this site.
