Welder question
« on: February 14, 2015, 06:00:55 PM »
Sorry it isn't directly halftrack related.i have an old solar 220 volt mig I got for a sond and dance. It works just fine for me but now have a problem. Put a hot part on top cover and heat transferred and melted wire and heat settings. Can find parts for it but no one that I contacted at welding supply sites can find info. Search craigslist and found a couple of listings  but no one has responded to eamails. Any of you guys have any ideas on where to look. It's a solar 2225 mig welder thanks.

I had a problem once with my no name mig welder, well it was an Italian model, cant remember the name lol. I couldnt find any parts either for it, i ended up taking to an electronics repair place ( that does tvs, vcrs, dvd players etc) an they were able to fix using standard parts from somewhere. It still worked for years after, but thought it was time for a better one.

May be try ebay? One thing I've found about welders over the years is your best to just buck up and get a name brand welder. I had a century brand and needed parts and the company would never call me or email me back, I ended up fixing up my self.
