for those considering buying garys bolts that he reduced to 35 cents as soon as steve A posted these.
garys 1" bolts are not 1" . they are 15/16" and 7/8".  they don't fit right.
also the slots are a mixture of 3 different widths.

Hi All, Thaks for all the orders coming in. I will be busy this week filling orders. I also added a Halftrack Pack. With this you get 700 - 1" armor bolts and 300 - 1.25" armor bolts. That will cover most of what you need to put a halftrack together with some extras. The price is $400 for this item.

I want to say a few things about what is being said about armor bolts. When I started my research into getting these made, the biggest concern I had was to make the "correct" bolt. So, what does that mean? I guess that depends on who you are and what you like. In model railroading their is a name for this and that is a "rivet counter". Well, what I have found going through many samples of bolts from numerous halftracks, vendors incluging Gary Hebding, Rod Shaver and others is that quality control was minimal. I found vast differences in all aspects of the head shape, slot width, depth and even how it was cut. So, when I submitted tolerances for these bolts we sampled quite a few of them and took the average as our center point. The other thing to take into consideration is the counter sink in the armor plate itself. This to varied as much as the bolts did. Some fit well, some were to shallow and others to deep. I fitted samples to the ten or so different original armor plates I have for this info. It was war back then guys. The quicker the vehicle got to the battle front the better. The life expectancy of these vehicles wasn't intended to last forever you know. Just my few cents on the topic.

 Lastly, Gary's bolts work just fine. I use them when needed. They just need to be cleaned, de-rusted, some may need to run a die over to clean or fix the threads and some are just not usable. As Gary said, he has drums full of these that have sat for many years. With a little work they are fine to use.

Mine are ready to use out of the box. No extra work needed. My bolts do come from over seas but I don't have a problem with that and the people that bought from me last time didn't either including Gary.

Yes, I sold my balance of 7500 of the 50,000 I had to Gary on my last run. I sold bolts to whom ever wanted them first come, firs serve. Gary called needing some for a project and asked to buy what I had left. He paid the same as everyone else. I have no problems selling to him or anyone else. With that I was out of bolts. For the next several months I was getting requests for these bolts and referred the callers to Gary as he was selling some of what I sold him. This last Year I've been getting an increased amount of requests to do another run. I was able to get a good price doing a double order and here you go, another fresh supply of bolts. I hope that answers everyone's questions on the matter.

the head size looks a little different from the first batch to the second.
do these new screws have a 3/4" diameter head?

it might just be the camera angle.

They fit as in the photos I provided above and clearly labeled. Some holes they fit like the photo you submitted, some a little shallower and some a little higher. Like I said the countersink varies some. What else can I do to please you. No one else seems to have a problem with them. I've sold over 10000 so far since I have posted them. Here are the official specifications from the mill.



This represents the mid range of all the samples I have measured from various vendors and off at least four different halftracks including White, Autocar and Diamond-T. The bolts don't quite come to a sharp point at the edges but not all do. I don't see why you are making a big fuss over this as no one else seems to have a problem. Maybe they are not the "perfect" bolt to your standards. I've spent many hours in this project and think they turned out great and the fit and do the job just fine.
