Front axle inter axle seals

I have a question is it possible to split the front axle housing and change the inner seals with out too much trouble. I already have all the hub's and axles  out of the tubes

I did mine, not to much of a problem. I would just mark your gears so the go back together in the same position. If you are using a TM I believe it tells you that the pinion assembly can be pulled out before splitting the axle. It cant, iirc the pinion nose bearing hits the ring gear.

 Correct. You cannot pull the pinion as the manual says. There is a inner snap ring that will break.

Folks I’m having a problem getting the REAR pinion out.  The manual states you remove the six bolts and slide out. Like the issues with the front pinion the rear comes out a half inch and stops. I don’t want to force it. Are there clips holding it in like the front??
