Starpoint tracks & bogie tires update?
« on: October 15, 2017, 05:43:00 PM »
I sent an email to Greg at Starpoint a while back to see how his tracks and bogie tires are coming. Nothing back. When we last spoke he was hoping to be testing the tracks by labor day. Has anyone talked to or heard from him to see how it's all going and when he might have these available?

I spoke with Greg this morning and he said he's completed his first set of tracks. He still has to test them and with winter coming on, will likely send them south for testing. He doesn't have a date yet when they'll be available because it's not yet known how long the testing might take – it depends on how much time the owner of the test half track would be able to spend on the testing sessions and how often. He's also working on the mould design for the bogie tires, but that's on a brief hold because he's in the process of moving his shop. He hopes to be back at it in a couple of months. He may be able to put the “B.F. Goodrich” logo on them but has to check on the legality issues involved in that. Anyway, all of that's encouraging and hopefully we'll soon have another source for tracks and bogie tires!

The last I heard is a set in Texas being tested and maybe one more set out there. I haven’t heard of any results

Seems to have gone dark on that front. No one responds to questions about how the testing is going and Starpoint is not answering emails about tracks.

Star Point Test tracks are doing wonderful! I am testing them on a IH M9A1 because it is a heaver machine than the White.  I have est 30 plus miles of all terrains. Asphalt , Concrete , deep mud (really...like had to use 4x4) with little or no wear on tracks and no stretch so far.  My fuel system went down and I am working on it so I can complete a 36 mile at road speed test. I just spoke with Greg at Star Point this morning and he is still very excited about a full production run. He has also make some longer test sets for Cletrac's (in the halftrack tread pattern) that are running around also.  I have posted a couple of times on White Halftrack with pictures on Facebook but Hebing keeps hijacking the posts. Seems friendly competition is not going over well with him. If someone wants pictures or more information on these tracks please feel free to contact me.

The conventions not far from them this year. Does anyone know if they will be there or have an update?
